July 2020 - with the closing of the Disney resorts for 4 months and the slow return of guests - the status of Disney's Reflections is up in the air. It is expected at this point that the resort will be delayed by some period. In June there were some rumors that the project was going to be cancelled but subsquently Disney filed some construction permits. At this stage there is no official word from Disney one way or the other - but the fact remains that eventually Riviera will sell out and WDW will need another resort to sell, so until a different location is named - the assumption will remain that this location will still come to fruitrion.
Disney's Reflections - a Lakeside Lodge is the name of the under construction resort at Walt Disney World, planned to be the 16th DVC resort and a mixed-use resort with cash rooms as well. It is currently scheduled to be completed sometime in 2022. Note that this will be only the SECOND resort built from the ground up as a cash/DVC mix-use resort, and the first one since The Boardwalk Inn and Villas. The initial announcement occurred in November of 2018, with initial permits filed in February of 2019. The resort is to be built on the former location of the River Country resort, adjacent to the Fort Wilderness campground.
Land clearing and destuction of the River Country area began in March of 2019. Further plan details were filed in May, 2019.
The concept shows sets of cabins on either side of the resort - nine on each side. The resort fronts Bay Lake, with also an apparent lazy river area next to the pool.
At D23 in August 2019 additional concept art was shared showing the resort, cabins, and a Princess and the Frog themed eatery. Since then, very little information has been provided of the resort - with construction continuing through March of 2020. However, with the advent of the COVID-19 crisis in March, 2020 - construction on the Reflections resort was halted indefinitely. At this stage the re-start date is not known, nor is there a plan for final construction.
